Jose Rizal Memorial State College, Tampilisan Campus formerly the Zamboanga del Norte National Regional Agricultural School, was founded on December 16, 1958 by virtue of Republic Act. No. 1896 with a total reservation of 2,332.63 hectares. It was approved by congress on June 22, 1957 and converted into a college by virtue of RA 3889 dated June 18, 1964 .
 
       
   
In 1965, the college started to offer the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and in 1976 the Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education, and in 1997 the Bachelor in Elementary Education and Bachelor of Secondary Education.
 
       
   
Per R.A. 8292 through CHED Order No. 27, Zamboanga del Norte Agricultural College (ZNAC) was integrated to Jose Rizal Memorial State College and transfer to Western Mindanao State University , Zamboanga City , on August 2002. With the integration of WMSU, this campus offered additional academic degree education.
 
       
    JRMSC-Tampilisan Campus is Located at the foot of Mount Gampoy, the haven of fauna and flora and tagged by most visitors as a “hidden city” . For most parents. The campus is an ideal place for youngsters who are in search for quality education.
